Due to the date change of the Miss World 2012 pageant, the Miss World Brazil Organization has made the decision to choose the Miss World Brazil 2012 among candidates who participated in the national pageant in the years 2009, 2010, and 2011. The winner of Miss World Brazil 2012 will represent Brazil to compete in Miss World 2012 pageant in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

The Miss World Brazil pageant, with participants from all states and some islands, will be held on September 22 at the Portobello Resort, and the winner will compete in Miss World 2013 paageant.

Barbara Monteiro, Miss Plus Size Mato Grosso do Sul 2011 was crowned Miss Brasil Plus Size 2011 on Sunday night 29th, January 2012 in Sao Paulo.
Sylvia Barreto, representing Sao Paulo was first runner up. Roberta Breves, representing Rio de Janeiro was second runner up.

In addition to the crown, Barbara won a trip to Switzerland for 14 days, a R$10,000 real ($6,000 USD) modeling contract, photographic books and magazines, and the opportunity to participate in parades.

The Miss World Brazil 2012 final pageant was held in Porto Alegre on April 2nd.

Mariana Notarangelo from Rio de Janeiro was crowned Miss World Brazil 2012/ Miss Mundo Brasil 2012.

Mariana Notarangelo from Rio de Janeiro was crowned Miss World Brazil 2012 or Miss Mundo Brasil 2012. Mariana Notarangelo is 22 year old and stands 1.75 m. She will represent Brazil to compete in Miss World 2012 pageant in Ordos, China.

Camila Serakides won the first runner-up. And Karine Barros won the second runner-up.

Mariana who comes from Duque de Caxias is a student of Medicine. In 2010 she won the title of International Queen of Coffee in Manizales (Colombia) and in 2011 was also the winner of the Miss Global Beauty Quest competition held in Seoul (Korea).

Six finalists competed in the finals of this special edition of the contest held to select a candidate for Miss World due to the change of date.

The Miss World Brazil 2013 competition will take place at the Portobello Resort in Rio de Janeiro on September 22nd.

The winner will represent Brazil in Miss World 2012 in China.
